I’ve been waiting for a sale on Hero Of Sparta! It doesn’t look like its worth $6.99, but $0.99 is a good deal.
Too busy playing Birth By Sleep at the moment to care.
What’s that Ventus, you think you look like Sora? No shit.
Wish that SHMUP was a tad cheaper : /
Honestly, having played it, I don’t think Hero of Sparta is even worth 99 cents. But if it’s worth anything, it’s worth less than a dollar.
And actually, according to the Laughing Jackal blog, it was supposed to be a tad cheaper, $5.99 instead of $6.99. I guess Sony didn’t get the price change in time…
“OK, good news now: Ace Armstrong’s price has come down to a barg-a-licious £3.99!!! We felt strongly that the game will perform better at this price point so we’re hoping you’ll all prove me right! I hope it’s some compensation to those SCEE gamers who have to wait those extra 3 weeks.
Please get on to the store and show your support for Ace Armstrong vs. the Alien Scumbags! at launch by buying the game. This price drop to £3.99 is also reflected in the Euro and USD pricing of the game, with those prices also dropping to €4.99 and $5.99 respectively.”
Oh it went down? I just checked and it’s still $6.99. I’ll check again tomorrow. It’s bedtime for me now.
it’s still priced at 6.99.
I wish we had a demo of the game or a review. Ace Armstrong Vs. The Alien Scumbags looks good but a demo will be better for gamers to see if the game is fun or not.
Sorry JeremyR, but I have to disagree. If you check 99% of the reviews, its a sound game, not to mention this is a mini after all and not a full game like Gods of War so dont expect the earth. I’ve been waiting for this game to drop in price, and on seeing the reduction, I bought it 2 days ago.
My verdict. 8/10. It keeps me coming back for more, and yes, some of the features are a bit lame compared to Gods of War, it has the playability factor.
Not everyone likes the same game, but this one is awesome. So if your reading this, go buy it, as its a bargain!
Ian, I agree,
just because I have played Chains Of Olympus before I recognize so much in Hero Of Sparta,
which I just bought for € 1.19.
Yes, it is no COO, but for a mini and for that price, it’s an impressing effort of a game. The graphics, of course, are worse.
Anyway, thanks for that game (on SD instead of UMD) and thanks for that price drop
There is a forum post about the price of Ace. Please look at the forum for details.
My problem with Sparta wasn’t so much the content, but the quality of the port. Very very sluggish (in terms of controls) and horrible frame rate, which really hurts an action game.
JeremyR, yes I can see what your saying. But its still well worth the money. I was playing Hero of Sparta last night and it seemed there may of been a lag issue when trying to kill the Cyclops on level 2. I went to to the 3rd last sequence of pressing 3 keys in order and eventually after the 4th go it worked. Normally, you just have to time it right but as there was a lag, it did take a few goes to get it right. The guy here also has the same issue :- (check out time 8.15) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJrR12fNe6Y&feature=related
i really wanted Flying Hamster but think its too expensive so ill hv to skip…
