Young Thor Website Open

This game was announced a while ago by Frima Studio, but forum member MiniPlayer spotted that the website,, was up for it.

As young Thor, you’ll have to travel to both Midgard and Asgard, battling hordes of mythical monsters as you strive to put an end to Hel’s evil designs. The three Norns – Urd, Skuld and Verdandi – have gone missing, leaving no one to tend to Yggdrasil, the World Tree. Can you save the day and restore balance? Do you have what it takes to be the mighty god of thunder?

The screen cap really doesn’t do it justice, visit the website and watch the trailer and see it in action. I keep saying this about new titles, but it really does look like the best Mini yet. Developers are really pushing what is possible, especially ones like this, which are original titles.

I watched the trailer and thought it looked good, but collision detection seemed a little off. Visually, I thought it was about on par with Freekscape. Freekscape was built on the Vicious Engine, and Frima Studio have used Vicious for Zombie Tycoon. So, maybe they built Young Thor on Vicious, too.

I’d be interested to see a Mini from Ready at Dawn. :) Or maybe Square Enix.

I would assume they used the Vicious Engine too. I’d be curious how they did Widget’s Odyssey though. I found a flash version of the game. If some company has worked out an easy way to port from flash that would be very useful. But I don’t think there is an easy way.

Forgot to note this in my earlier comment: if they want to find out where Urd, Skuld, and Belldandy went, they should really ask Keiichi. . . .
