Mahjong Solitaire – Upcoming Mini
Eagle eyed forum member sergiom99 spotted this upcoming mini from Agetec on their web page. This incarnation of the popular solitaire mahjong game will be priced at $2.99 and released on April 22nd, 2010 (no word for EU release)
As Agetec describes it:
You are presented with 144 mahjong tiles arranged in an organized, three-dimensional heap. The goal is to match open pairs of identical tiles and remove them from the board, exposing the tiles under them for play. The game is finished when all pairs of tiles have been removed from the board or when there are no exposed pairs remaining, or when time runs out!

Aesthetically, players can customize their experience, by selecting one of 4 styles of background music, 10 types of background wallpapers, and choose among 24 different layouts or stages. The game has 3 options for time limit – either 1, 3, or 5 minutes

Ultimately, this is just a fun “matching” game, using tiles with ancient designs on them, easy to pickup and play anytime, and yet captivating and deeply enjoyable.
Like sergiom99, I am a big fan of solitaire mahjong, so I look forward to seeing how this stacks up with the launch mini, Mahjongg Artifacts 2 from G5. This seems more basic, that title had a story mode to go with a quick match mode. But then this is cheaper, so it’s a trade off.

Yessss! I’ve been waiting for an inexpensive Mahjong Solitaire game for my PSP~
I’ve play a free online Mahjong Solitaire game, but want to get one for my PSP Go, will be giving this a try. I like the ability to be able to pan and tilt the board, sometimes its hard to see which tiles are covered with the top-down only view.
Yeah I’m a Shanghai fan and will be downloading this also, it looks pretty bare-bones, but for $2.99 I’ll get a lof of addicted fun play time out of it I reckon.
