iBomber/GoBomber – Upcoming Mini
According to Pocket Gamer, CobraMobile’s smash hit iPhone game iBomber is set to be released as a mini, although probably under a slightly different name, possibly GoBomber. Pocket Gamer reports that at the same time as announcing that iBomber has just passed the milestone of being downloaded 2 million times from the iTunes Store, Cobra MD Mark Ettle also confirmed that the game is scheduled to be revamped and released as a mini.
The You Tube video shown above is a promo for the iPhone version of the game, and it certainly looks really addictive! iBomber has already won many industry accolades, including being featured as one of the iTunes “Rewind 2009 Best Games”, and was also nominated for Best Mobile/Handheld Game at the 2009 Rose Design Awards.
Interestingly enough, CobraMobile’s involvement in the minis programme was initially announced way back in August 2009, in an exclusive news story on Casual Gaming.biz, which said that Cobra had three titles ready to go as minis: GoBomber (iBomber), Numba and Cobi Treasure. All three titles were due to be released as minis by the end of 2009, so not quite sure what happened there! It’s possible we’ll also be seeing the other two titles as minis soon too. Having checked out the CobraMobile site though, one game I for one will be hoping to see released as a mini is the gloriously named Zombie Chav Hunt!

Looks like a very easy game, maybe boring?
A lot of titles that were announced when the minis program was announced as the 50 or so coming out have pretty much vanished into the ether.
Can’t say this is one of those I’m disappointed to not see, though. And another one that is also MIA (Stunt Cars) did end up on the Wii, where apparently it was complete rubbish. So…
While it may or may not be a mini, Siliconera has a great interview with the makers of that Flying Hamster game.
Also, Halfbrick’s zombie mini seems set for Feb 25th according to a post from the developer on NeoGaf.
