Sony Holding a PlayStation Mobile Game Jam in Japan

This weekend (right now, I guess), Sony is holding a PS Mobile Game Jam, a competition where people must make a new game in a limited amount of time, in Japan.

They held a series of them in the West, culminating in games likes Hermit Crab in Space, Crumble, and Crystallon. Who knows what will come from this? Probably lots of games involving cats. You can follow the action (such as it is) on Twitter with #psmgamejam.

(photo from Megumi Kawamura’s Twitter, who seems to be covering the event. Or attending. It’s all in Japanese, so I have no idea.)

Megumi Kawamura seems to be a PR person. Anyway, an item of interest in her tweet stream: Fumito Ueda, of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus fame, is at this game jam.

  3. Freelance says:

Damn these indie devs, We need more dog games.

  4. JeremyR says:

I saw a penguin game and a teddy bear game.

And dang, you’d think Sony would be able to afford a ceiling in their buildings.

  5. onmode-ky says:

Haven’t you heard? A ceiling is detrimental to good business practices. It adds too much . . . overhead.

  6. JeremyR says:

That makes up for all your bad jokes.
