PlayStation Store Update – 10th December 2009
5 new minis this week.
Looks like Christmas came early in minis land. 5 new minis appeared worldwide this week. That’s a fantastic effort by Sony and developers considering the very poor update last week.
Four of the new titles this week we weren’t even aware of. Considering we keep our ears pretty close to the ground regarding all things minis this was a very pleasant surprise.
Surprisingly, Cubix was a no show, again. Though the developer has confirmed that the delay is due to them getting the title PS3 ready and it will be available on the 17th.
Stay tuned for first impressions and reviews.
Here’s the release list:
*Red = New worldwide

- * Battle Poker ($2.99)
- Stand O’Food ($4.99)
European Minis

Oooh, Beam ‘Em Up sounds like it was inspired by Cosmic Ark, one of my favorite 2600 games.
Hard to find out any info on the game other than a blurb (like screen shots). Even the developer’s website (Immersive Games) doesn’t have anything except that.
Seems to be wholly original at least, not a port from anything.
I’m noticing that it’s mostly European developers who are taking advantage of Minis and PSN so far. Maybe it’s time for me to get a Euro PSN account? Problem is how to load it with cash since I only have access to US PSN cards. My country, btw, is not officially supported by Sony Computer Entertainment at all (so I import the hardware from Hongkong, the software from US).
SCEE really seems to have their act together in the promotion of games on the PSN. They have been launching more minis, have been more aggressively promoting them on their version of the PS Blog, and regularly run sales and discounts on PSP games and PSOne games.
SCEA would be well served to learn from this.
Will we get the UK crosswords Mini here in Canada?
Sure hope so.
Any word if Battle Poker is fun/good?
Since Battle Poker was a Wii-ware game, there are a bunch of reviews for that. The answer seems to be, not really.
Battle poker was boring…Wish I hadn’t got it…
Btw BreakQuest PSP mini update was released within this PSN update
